Find datasets by theme

Statistics.gov.scot offers a variety of ways to find data. This guide describes how to find an individual dataset by browsing by theme. Other guides are available for working with data in a dataset once you've found one you're interested in.

Datasets are grouped into themes according to the topic of the data. To browse the data by theme, click on the data tab in the toolbar at the top of the homepage.

This takes you to the Data page. Below the latest updates, you get an alphabetised list view of dataset collections  by theme.

Click on the theme that you’re interested in. As an example here I want data about house prices across counties so I select the Housing theme. This takes me a list of datasets within the theme.

At this point, I’ve found the dataset I want (House Prices). Click on the link to view the dataset.
